| Hello Everyone, Here are two previews in MP3 format from my new CD (working title "Spring Rain", though that will inevitably change before it is released). We are recording at Trapezoideum in Pioneer, CA, with engineering by Rick Roberts and mixing by Rick and myself. If it is not a dulcimer, it is played by Rick. (That has included acoustic and electric guitars, Moog, harmonica, and dare I say, humonica.) The first tune is the classic Welsh melody, "The Ash Grove". Along with the dulcimer, Rick artfully wove in recorder sounds and a bass line, both executed on his 1974 Micro Moog synthesizer! The second set of tunes consists of an old Russian folk tune followed by a Russian folk dance called Kerobushka. Some people may recognize it as a tune that was used in the game Tetris but, in fact, the tune goes way back! Thanks to ace dulcimerist Jim Lillquist of the Gypsy Guerilla Band for teaching me that one at the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin. The CD was planned for release long before now but, as always, time has expanded well beyond expectations. For those of you who have been waiting, hopefully this preview will assure you that the final production was worth the wait. It has been nearly 9 years (!) since my most recent CD (Westwind), so a couple more months (years) hopefully won't hurt too much...
